From Rescue Work to Salon Software
TailPlan was born from a love for animals and a desire to help the people who care for them. What started in a local animal rescue grew into an intuitive tool built for groomers everywhere.
The Problem
When I started volunteering as a cat caretaker at a local animal rescue, I quickly saw how much time went into chasing paperwork instead of helping animals. Notes on sticky pads, Excel sheets everywhere, and endless confusion — the work was full of love, but lacked structure. When my idea to improve their system was rejected, I realized this wasn’t just a rescue problem — many animal businesses face the same challenge every day.
The Solution
With a background in software engineering and years of experience building tech for major brands, I decided to create something better — intuitive, modular software that actually fits how animal businesses work. Most tools were either too limited or too complex. TailPlan was designed to bring everything together — grooming, boarding, and client management — in one simple, affordable, and accessible platform.
The Mission
Development began in early 2025, and our first beta launched on October 1st. From day one, the goal has been the same: make life easier for people who care for animals. With my cat Billie and dog Kaya always close by (and in memory of our beloved cat Saartje, the real TailPlan office manager), I’m committed to building software that saves time, reduces stress, and helps groomers focus on what truly matters — caring for animals.
